The RISE Attendance and Behaviour Hub programme has been introduced by the Department for Education (DfE) to help improve school attendance and behaviour practice and culture. DfE have commissioned IFF Research, an independent research agency, to carry out an evaluation of the programme.
About the evaluation
The evaluation of the RISE Attendance and Behaviour Hubs Programme will aim to understand how the programme is being delivered, what impact it is having on schools, what is working well, how it can be improved, and whether it offers good value for money.
The evaluation will run from early 2026 to 2029 will collect data through short online surveys at the beginning and end of schools’ time on the programme. The surveys will measure attitudes to school attendance and behaviour to track changes over time.
Some schools will also take part in case study visits during the school year where we will speak with teachers, pupils and parents about attendance and behaviour at their school.
Additionally, we will analyse school attendance and behaviour data that DfE already holds. We will not be reporting any data at an individual school level as we are interested in monitoring programme-level impact, and there is no need for schools to prepare or send additional data. Similarly, all survey responses will be anonymous, and no individual or school will be identified in any findings.
